RESULTS - Stableford and Masters Day 2 at Vintage on Saturday 28 September 2024

Here are the results for the Stableford and Masters Day 2 competition played at Vintage Golf Club on Saturday 28 September. We expected wet weather but instead got a hot steamy day with no rain.

19 players competed in the Stableford competition with a subset of 13 players also in with a chance of winning the Masters major. To add extra pressure the leaders of the Masters after Day 1 were grouped together.

Congratulations to Chris Brown who scored a super score of 37 to win the Stableford competition ahead of Noi Waratworayon, Robert Gray and Krishna Tiwary who were the flight winners (A, B and C respectively). Chris won a trophy, a lesson and 2 weeks of practice membership at the Golf Point Center and a sleeve of Pro V1s.

In the Masters competition, Andy Shaw played commendably well on both days and took the major win! Congratulations to Andy - those lessons at the Golf Point Center are really paying off! Robert Gray and Noi Waratworayon also played really well but just came up a little short but they were 2nd and 3rd respectively. Andy's name will be engraved on the Masters perpetual trophy and he will receive his real prizes in due course - a customised LGC shirt and other goodies too.

The regular 2024 Team Competition was also in action as usual and the 4 Aces took a convincing win (76 points for 10 event points) from Fireballs (60 for 7). The Dragons (20 for 5) and Stingers (15 for 4) are preparing petitions to rejig the team line ups for 2025 and of course the Fireballs stay in the lead in the overall competition.

Registration is open for our October Stableford competition at Muang Kaew Golf Club on Saturday 11 October with the first tee time at ~11:00am.
