RESULTS - Londoners Presidents Cup Weekend at Black Mountain 22/23 June 2024
Beautiful Black Mountain golf course

Another fabulous Londoner Away Weekend event took place this weekend and at the end of over 60 rounds of golf, Tad Han stood at the top of the (Londoner) world, bloodied rivals scattered all around as he took the grand prize that is the Presidents' Cup 2024.

Congratulations to Tad - 2 good rounds to get the overall win plus Day 2 prize. Commiserations to John Siena, pipped on countback by Tad's unlikely but successful last putt on the 18th hole. John's prize was the overall flight A win (and Day 1 overall). A mention for Rick Apichairuk who took the overall flight B win and put up a good defense of his 2-time title. Andrew Guilfoyle capped his last Londoner Away weekend before his and Ami's relocation to the UK, with a repeat of his 2023 Flight C overall win (Ami repeated her accomplishment of Flight B overall runner up).

Fears about the condition of the course were quickly allayed. Sure, not all parts of the course were lovely and the reduced green fee price was valid, yet the course was very playable and fair with good greens and bunkers. Many thanks to John and Lukkana for liaising with the course for the booking and the organising. Thank you to all the committee especially Steven Brader who did a huge part of the pre-comp admin even though he couldn't be there. Thanks too to Paul Wyatt, not only for his AIMS company providing overall sponsorship for the weekend but he also took on the scorer's job to help out.

The full results are shown in the tables inserted below:

The 2024 Team competition was in full swing on both days. Dragon's regained their heat with victories both days as Ami hands over the team captaincy to Mark Foxwell. Fireballs and 4 Aces had a 2nd and 3rd place each whilst Stingers await the return of Didi Bandat in October as they came 4th both days.

Our next competition is a Medal on Saturday 13 July at Subrapruek.

Our next Away Weekend is the Club Championships in November. We could not get a booking this year at Grand Prix so we are going to a new place for us - Khao Yai Country Club - on 23 and 24 November. More details will be shared in due course but we have some rooms reserved at the Hansar Thai Wellness Resort that will be available through us later.

Regards,
Phil
