BACKGROUND
This exciting team event will run again in 2025 after a successful first competition in 2023 (won by Dragons) and in 2024 (won by Fireballs). There are 4 teams, each with a captain:
Dragons - Mark Foxwell,
Fireballs - Steven Brader / Richard White,
4 Aces - Craig Leamy,
Stingers - Dietmar Bandat / Stefan Kuhn
Every active* member of the Londoners group in True Handicap is a member of a team (decided at the start of 2023 by a NFL style draft followed by round robin assignment). New Londoner members are assigned a team based on the number of currently active players to maintain fairness.
NEW FOR 2025!! Points are awarded based on positions achieved at regular events (just like the Order of Merit e.g. if 32 players participate in an event then the winner scores 32 points, 2nd place scores 31 and so on right down to last place who scores 1 point) and the total of the points won at each event will decide which team won the event. Points are then awarded to form a league table:
1st placed team - 4 points
2nd placed team - 3 points
3rd placed team - 2 points
4th placed team - 1 point
As well as team points being awarded at Strokeplay event there will also be an InterTeam Matchplay part to the competition at Rivalry Events. There will be 3 of these and each team will play each other once. The Rivalry Events are scheduled for to be decided. Captains will choose 6 players** from their team to face off in 2 pairs and 2 singles.
